Plastic Free July

This is the month to kick the plastic habit.

Drinking straws, throw-away coffee cups, or single-use plastic bags? What will you give up?

The Council is right behind the July challenge, with 1,800 council staff pledging to switch to reusable cups for their coffee break.

Details here, plus all the plastic-free events on this month.

TurtletankFlipWe're also up and running with our

Say NO to Single Use Plastic

Video Conferencing Sessions for Primary Schools

We have four sessions designed to engage and educate primary school students around Sustainability and the results of Single Use Plastics in our environment.

Students will learn about the big four single-use-plastic offenders and how to avoid them, and they'll have the chance to take part in Plastic Free July events. Sessions include education videos, lively discussions, quizzes, data and single use plastic to collect and an art installation to be created for the ‘Manly Arts Festival’.

Tank the Turtle himself will educate pupils about how plastic affects the ocean and marine creatures, like himself.

Book online for ‘Say No to Single Use Plastics’ for live video conference sessions.
