The Manly Environment Centre will host the 19th Ocean Care Day Festival, a free fun community event on Manly's spectacular surf beach.

Check out the eco exhibitions and local art, while learning more about our gorgeous local environment as well as today's big issues.

oceancarefishChat with environmental scientists and admire marine creatures in their underwater environment at the Eco Lab.

Or scan the skies with a special H-Alpha telescope, staffed by Sydney Observatory astronomers.

If art is your thing, head over to the Art Tent to admire original environmental works by local artists.

As well there's Manly's iconic Penguin Pavilion and the ever-popular native plant giveaway.

It's not a festival without music and you can enjoy live local musicians on the music stage. The show kicks off with up-and-coming songstress Ella Freestone at 11am. Then the funky South American groove of the Fernando Aragones duo at 12 noon, Luke Escombe's rock, blues and comedy show at 1, followed by rockabilly blues from local icon Neil Ohlback at 2. The toe-tapping Iluka trio close the gig, playing a set moving from swamp rock, thru doo-wop and into soaring balladry. Iluka play from 3.20 to 4.20pm.

Ocean Care Day runs from 10.30am until 4.30pm.
